I'm not arrogant,
I'm just impatient
I've seen all your eyes
and I've seen all your faces
Do you know the look?
Have you hidden it well?
I've seen your faces
Your lights on the waters, under lights,
Or less light than fantastic, reflected
Listless moments stolen, ah, for great glory
Admitting, unfolding, repenting
Against a backdrop night sky
Looking out from your eyes, the thing you've never seen
I'm waiting, beaming, uncovering, empty
As you hold, as you weigh, as you look
I've seen that look on every face; it's something less than waiting
It's a mist of experience, formed, a mind clouded, disconnection
It is the face of every crowd
Sad eyes on a summer day
A jewel on a cold face
Is this how we enter Jerusalem?
With eyes closed and open and listless
I sit across, waiting, and gazing
For my soul to be released
I'm just impatient
I've seen all your eyes
and I've seen all your faces
Do you know the look?
Have you hidden it well?
I've seen your faces
Your lights on the waters, under lights,
Or less light than fantastic, reflected
Listless moments stolen, ah, for great glory
Admitting, unfolding, repenting
Against a backdrop night sky
Looking out from your eyes, the thing you've never seen
I'm waiting, beaming, uncovering, empty
As you hold, as you weigh, as you look
I've seen that look on every face; it's something less than waiting
It's a mist of experience, formed, a mind clouded, disconnection
It is the face of every crowd
Sad eyes on a summer day
A jewel on a cold face
Is this how we enter Jerusalem?
With eyes closed and open and listless
I sit across, waiting, and gazing
For my soul to be released
