Mating and dating

Wednesday, October 11

UT evolutionary psychologist Norm Li on his recent mating and dating research: Self-reported "physical attractiveness [was] a necessity for men and resources for women, but that as budgets increased, individuals didn’t necessarily demand higher levels of attractiveness and resources." e.g., we want a well-rounded partner after get what we think we want initially, or that maybe we do need, -- attractiveness (bling?) and resources (bling bling?)

"How, then, do we find the perfect mate? Li says we come to understand both our own mating budgets and what we are looking for. Basically, then, we recognize a bargain when we see it." Link

Or you could go for romance, intimacy, and the like:
I'd pay any price just to get you
I'd work all my life and I will
To win you I'd stand naked, stoned and stabbed

I'd call that a bargain
The best I ever had
