A Graduate Student Avoiding his Ph.D., Being Productive,
or Being Creative and Useful in Any Real Way...

Thursday, June 30

I forgot my ipod mini at school so I ran this morning, wind and the noise of cars and the city, and me singing softly to myself with bated breath. And before the caffeine I was just high with life. Now I'll just eat ice until I can bite it all away.
Teenage Mary said to Uncle Dave
I sold my soul, must be saved
Gonna take a walk down to Union Square
You never know who you're gonna find there
You gotta run, run, run, run, run
Take a drag or two
Run, run, run, run, run
Gypsy Death and you
Tell you whatcha do

Gotta Get Thru This ...

Monday, June 27

I used to write down words to express how I felt
Then it became too difficult

It might be time to end this blog
Go on hiatus

Maybe write some letters to mail across the continent
And end this typing... tap tap

Monks can raise their core body temperature by 15 degrees

Thursday, June 23

...when I was younger I had the idea that if a person meditated and came to a centered place, that they could become able to bring forth a physical fire. Somehow, could become able to harness the energy around them and let it flow through them and around them, creating energy that would flow over the person like water. I know that similar things are possible. Monks can raise their core body temperature by 15 degrees. Under hypnosis, a person can experience allergic reactions, pseudo-sunburns, and even blisters. Jedi shit.

--written the one day this month I will likely take the time to meditate.

The caption she uses is important:

Strange news story of the week: Naked Zorro (see also: older NZ sighting). This happened right near where I used to live.
