a friend on insomnia and mornings in Austin:
"on the nights i dont go to sleep i usually go run around 5. not very long.. just around the perimeter of the campus. but it is pretty amazing how very cinematic the whole jog is... the small details like the campus cats' aghast reactions to someone disrupting their scavenging time, the sysco delivery coming into the back of the union, the sprinklers running, the absolute stillness of the air.. all culminating towards the end when i reach the bottom of the very steep hill next to the soccer/lacross field and its like youre barely moving, but you have to keep pumping your legs to keep any of the momentum that you still have.. and you reach the top and right there before you is a perfect view of the entire downtown skyline still humming and buzzing and lit up."
