What are we doing here, making omelettes, going to the bathroom? I'm cool with that.
I'm holding out for cookies with gold plated chocolate choorps.

Waking Life

A gram of Niacin made me sweat and my skin felt hot. There was sweat. And the next day I was hungry for the first time in what seems like weeks. Maybe the fever wants to break. Maybe the germs are losing. We can only hope. Kill Bill was awesome, as was Texas Chainsaw (you have to love Travis county chainsaw movies). I am beginning to wonder if I enjoy graphic displays of carnage if directed well and placed knee-deep in irony. Perhaps I should balance this out with a Lost in Translation experience. I have heard good things. "You would really like this movie but I can't tell you why." Food for thought. I want to eat italian sausage pizza. The germs must be losing.
Thank you for your good wishes and advice,

What price now for a shallow piece of dignity

Slightly numb toes under sheets that don't match my bedspread. Hazy light through the blinds, filtered through clouds from the sun. The wind blows brown cracked leaves onto the welcome mat that doesn't say welcome. I dont always have to watch the end credits... but I do if the music is good. I learned about people last night. I pretend to learn those things during the day, but it is easier at night. And in the morning things are different. My toes are cold and my breath is hot.

I am tired and sick. With a fever. And I cannot concentrate, so I feel, not smart. I am tired of sleep, tired of television, I am not tired of Miyazaki films though. Although for now I am out. I could watch "Spirited Away" again, or maybe something older I haven't seen like "Ecchan the Ninja". Or something like "Omohide poro poro" he produced...
... aka Memories of Teardrops
... aka Memories of Yesterday
... aka Only Yesterday
You have to love the Internet movie Database, just like you loved trashy daytime tv when you had the flu at 8 years old. I read Choose Your Own Adventure and watched suburban housewife drama specials on USA and TNT. I liked the books the best.

Copious... I love that word, copasetic too. I am such a nerd I wonder what the root is...
This girl is funny, go see: here. She is so smart though too, something I was thinking today she already said,
"it seems to me that when we find a mistake with ourselves, we go to whatever lengths we can to cover it, rather than change it. more people should be naked. nudity is honesty."

I am confused by our culture
An interesting read: She may have gained equality but she's lost power. Ignoring the undeniable tug of romance has never been easier, and yet-- eye sex, anyone?

Austin reminds me of a song. A specific song.
Manic Street Preachers - So Why So Sad (Album being: Know Your Enemy)
I can't say enough about this song. So I won't.

Most memorable qouote of the weekend: "I saw a sticker coming up here of a rainbow and a Texas flag, and I thought that was a little redundant"
I've got two tickets to iron maiden, baby

Gone to Dallas to watch OU beat texas. But I'll claim some in-group pride either way.
Here comes the sun
Wednesday, October 8
I sit, writing a report by stale lamplight. Momentarily the sun seems to move across the roof of my building, exposing sunlight through my window. And I wonder how I could have beat the sun. It seems to me like the sun has more important work to do than me, shouldn't it be up first? This, my friends, is bullshit.
Early morning cheer,
Early morning cheer,
In the end we are just dust and bones, and that's alright?

I really want to get out of the philosophic and cerebral part of life. I don't want to think of the places I have been, I want the feeling that the future is what I will make of it. That it will come no matter what I do. I want to let go of my need to control things, and just be. That is what I am struggling with. So many people with so many words. I just want to sit with someone who knows me and do nothing. Wait until the fog lifts. The flood subsides. And my tree has survived.

Dear friend,
I want to go play racketball. Look under -listen- to the left and you will find a song for your ears.

Dear friend,
Some excellent commentary for you today. To begin:
"Yes, but what can people that pretend to care pretend to do?" - Bill Mahr
In other news, the new Jewel video is great. There is a hilarious reference to the Corona cervesa ads in which she puts a backdrop of a beach behind a bum passed out on a bench. Well done. And she successfully mocks a lot of pop-tart culture without seeming sarcastic. Jewel, my friends, rocks.
Other other news, download some Cafe Del Mar if you like jazzy sexy slightly electronic music. I guess the genre is jungle jazz. If you added a little drum 'n bass, it would be closer to pure jungle. It is liquid and smooth and epitomizes 'chill'.
Cheers,
